I kick start my 11th diary entry from Dresden, Germany.
I pick up a set of forklifts and travel 534 km to Bremen, and deliver them solid and well.
I stop shortly for a soft drink and then take some empty palettes from Bremen to Hamburg, a drive of roughly 135 kilometres.
Now comes the fun part! Click Read More to do the obvious... ;)
Today we take an excavator from Nürnberg (DE) to Salzburg (AT), to deliver to the local stone quarry.
Along the 1 hour and 40 minute trip, some trucks passed me by way as I just got on the Autobahn.
I didn't let it get to me, the cargo was safe, so nothing else had to be done.
It was solid, I got the goods and the payment went in to my new trucking company bank, Warp Speed VTC.
I got myself a new nifty loan of €400,000 after my DAF got taken away from me.
It crashed hard and it was totalled, unrepairable.
The memories were short, but sweet.
Now it was time for an upgrade, and got myself a 441 horse powered Mercedes New Actros.
My first drive was from Köln (Cologne) to Nürnberg (Nuremberg).
It has already happened a long time ago, but Life of a Trucker is getting a more prominent role on the channel.
You thought after January I had gone AWOL, as well as the series, but that was due to time constraints!
I'm back and fully operational.
The last 2 January episodes:
Fast forward to March, and I'm hitting the roads of Europe again in my red DAF.
I'm trying to get rid of my debt, but it seems it's not going as fast as I had wanted, but I am driving well enough to make a living and to take the numbers slowly from negative to positive.
It's still snowing, and it is March... come on!
In March I will return to the roads of Europe to continue my life as a trucker.
You should be able to find my around once a week, if all goes well.
Life can do strange things, as I had several jobs and now I'm back in my cabin to drive.
I will keep you posted of when you can follow me LIVE, and keep this blog up to date again.
In the mean time, you can check out all my interesting career options under series and projects!
now that that is out of the way and cleared up, I'm back in Cologne (my home base).
I will be a veggie driver now, as I move 9 tonnes of cauliflower to Luxembourg for a pleasant €541,- base tariff.
Then I came across the bridge, which is a crossover in the direction of Belgium.
I made a short rest stop, to get some biscuits and some diet coke, and then resumed my way, and just some minutes, I managed to see this...
Heart rate went up to 180, but an accident was avoided, and I could carry on with my intact cauliflower load.
Geez, people don't know how to drive these days...
Finally arriving in Luxembourg, I looked up on my phone what next drives could possibly be, and there happened to be a Driller in Luxembourg en route to Geneva. With it being wanted, the base tariff was €1,659. Jackpot!
Nothing interesting happened, until I came to the toll booths.
No one can ever reach them, so unnecessary exercise needed to pay the toll (see below)
I accidentally had a slip on the brakes, which caused me just to surpass the traffic light line, which incurred me a fine of €350.-, so progress lost a bit there.
But the load was secure and I got paid, I wanted to get another load, but this is what I had to go through.
I could not contain myself, and turned in for the day.
Let's hope all this madness doesn't continue for my heart rate, but for you as the viewers it does.
Below is my full journey with my dash cam and everything!
Today we were back on the road with another load!
Today we took Chimney Systems from Hannover to Duisburg, further trying to down the deficit of -€18,300.
Below you can find the route we embarked on in Part 3 of Life Of A Trucker, in which we came across someone from Nigeria... at least he wasn't a Prince sending us e-mails with money.
With my proud patriotism, I'm driving DAF, even though my home base in the game is in Cologne, Germany.
It doesn't have the best torque to go uphill, but it certainly does the trick and has good mileage and a wide fuel tank.
First I took a load from Köln (Cologne) to Mannheim. After that was deemed succesful, I made my way to Stuttgart, 70 kilometres further, to pick up another freight (see below) from there to Nürnberg.
After the interval to stop for food and drinks (stream ended), I made my way with some (Heinz) Ketchup to Frankfurt am Main. If only I could've used that ketchup for my sandwiches.... errrr rather having Mayonaise though.
After arriving in Frankfurt, I took the next load to Duisburg, which were Wood Shavings.
Following on it I took Tracks from Duisburg to Hannover.
I met some nice Asian drivers along the way, with some unusual names, such as Dong Dong, Long Wang and Fan Wang.... funny!
After that I quit for the day, and went in for a nice sleep.
Balance before the day: -€21,836
Balance after the day: Around -€19.000
Today I will introduce my new and upcoming series called "Life Of A Trucker".
Here I will post episodes and bits taken off my livestreams and video's of ETS 2 and ATS, which will be going in and out, depending on how the story will turn.
For this adventure, I will be starting with a new profile, and will use an income factor of 0.1, after getting my own truck to make it as hard as possible to progress into the story, and this adventure will last.
I will keep you posted on this blog with pictures of thing I've come across on my way, and meet up with you all on the multiplayer (usually EU2).
See ya trucking!
